BREAKDOWN: A Valorant Montage
This was my first time doing 3D seriously on an edit. First time editing Valorant as well. At first, this was supposed to be an 24HC [24 Hours Challenge] however as I got more involved in 3D I decided to keep going and develop my skills. This was a test on creating 3D cinematics and I want to make more like this in the future. The inspiration behind this edit was a song from a song called "Kayzo & Our Last Night - Alone (Sullivan King Remix)" but I end up changing to "Falling in Reverse - Monster" since my followers told me to. This was so much fun to do because the clips I was editing was from my community, so everyone were super excited. The entire edit was also made on stream, which you can see it on twitch.tv/enigma.
CYPHER CINEMATIC:
I downloaded the models and animations but I had to model the map which took me so long to do, I know its not perfect but its okay since every cinematic was around less than a second. I know details are important, but I was still figuring it out all of this and how to put together/combine footage from the game and 3D and make something with flow and dynamic.
Viper Cinematic:
It was so hard to figure out the scale of the map with the character and having a wide camera close to the floor help hide anything that feels a bit bigger/smaller. I used turbulenceFD for the grenade Viper was holding than mixed with some overlays/particles in AE, would just blend everything nicely. Everything was first rendered in Hardware from C4D to AE so I could start editing and figure out which camera angles work the best.
Phoenix Cinematic:
This phoenix part was such a challenge! I decided to ask a good friend of mine (Joao) if we would be down to do a VFX for me since he is working with Houdini for years. Also I asked him if he would be okay to teach me or go over what he did in houdini for the effect. Also since this edit was for my followers/donators I decided to include them in the wall close to Phoenix as an easter egg. I was so frustrated because the VDBs in octane work different from houdinis, so it took me hours to figure it out that my settings were wrong. I had lots of fun doing this project!
72 HOURS PROJECT:
Special Thanks to the 3D Gods Devostated, Spirax, Joao who have helped me with this project and been there every step of the way in the 72 hours it took me to make this edit on stream, not counting the render times. Also big thanks to Krasher for doing the SFX for this edit, he used FL Studio for it!
